About Scriptura

Scriptura is a Christian nonprofit organization devoted to bringing unusual depth, clarity, and accessibility to Bible translation and Scripture engagement worldwide.

We exist because much of the best biblical scholarship never reaches the people who most need it: translators making difficult text decisions, church leaders trying to understand complex passages, and communities longing to encounter God more fully through Scripture. Scriptura seeks to bridge that gap by transforming advanced exegetical work into layered resources that are not only academically rigorous, but visually intuitive, practically useful, and spiritually formative.

Our current focus is the book of Psalms—a portion of Scripture whose poetic artistry, emotional intensity, and theological density often make it among the most difficult material to translate well. Rather than offering simplified notes or isolated commentary, Scriptura develops integrated, in-depth analyses that trace how each psalm works at every level: grammatical, lexical, discourse, emotional, and poetic. These analyses are then rendered into translator-facing notes, diagrams, charts, and visual tools designed to help translation teams make wiser and more text-sensitive decisions.

This is exacting work. It requires scholarly precision, translational awareness, patience, and a willingness to build resources collaboratively over time.
