MEET ELIZABETH
Elizabeth Robar spent her teenage years convinced she would become a Bible translator. At nineteen she applied to Wycliffe Bible Translators and was turned down for being too young. What followed were two decades of academic preparation, unexpected redirections, and God’s patient reshaping of a dream she never let go.
Elizabeth holds double master’s degrees from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in Old Testament and New Testament, and a PhD from Cambridge University. Her doctoral work led to a research position at Tyndale House in Cambridge, England, where she discovered that her early background in computer programming could open new possibilities for biblical scholarship. That intersection — deep exegetical expertise and technical capability — eventually led her to found Cambridge Digital Bible Research, which became Scriptura. She now serves as Scriptura’s founder and CEO.
Elizabeth’s role encompasses the scholarly vision of the ministry, strategic partnerships with Bible translation organizations and theological institutions worldwide, and ensuring that Scriptura’s resources remain both academically rigorous and genuinely useful to translators in the field.
