Mari grew up in Brazil, came to faith through the persistent witness of a faithful couple in her community, and has spent the years since asking how she can be part of making God’s Word known to others. That question brought her to the United States, through seminary, and eventually to Scriptura—where she serves as a researcher, contributing to the emotional and linguistic analysis that makes the Psalms more accessible to Bible translators around the world.

Mari’s research focuses on the emotional depth, poetic structure, and linguistic patterns of the Psalter. Her work helps uncover what the Psalms are doing—not just what they say—so that translators can carry that fullness into new languages with faithfulness and care.
