MEET WILLIAM

Will came to faith in Christ in college and spent the years that followed asking a single question: where would God want him to go to best serve the kingdom? That question led him through switching majors, two seminary degrees with an Old Testament focus, and eventually to Scriptura—where he serves as an exegete, doing the deep scholarly work that helps Bible translators engage faithfully with the Psalms.

Will’s work at Scriptura focuses on detailed research into individual psalms. He works through the Hebrew text to uncover poetic structure, key imagery, and the layers of meaning that make the Psalms so rich—and so difficult to translate. His research becomes part of the translation resources Scriptura develops for teams working in languages around the world.

WHY THIS WORK MATTERS

The Psalms are among the most complex texts in the entire Bible — filled with wordplay, poetic imagery, and emotional depth that don’t travel easily across languages. Bible translators working in minority language communities often lack the Hebrew scholarship needed to navigate that complexity. Scriptura exists to close that gap. Without skilled exegetes like Will, translators face those texts alone.

WHAT YOUR SUPPORT MAKES POSSIBLE

  • Sustained, careful research into individual psalms that becomes the foundation for translation resources used by teams worldwide
  • Deeper engagement with the Hebrew text than most translation teams could access on their own
  • A scholar working at the intersection of rigorous biblical study and real-world ministry need, making sure the Psalms reach the nations with their full beauty intact

Will joined Scriptura because he believes the biblical languages belong to the whole church—including the parts of the church still waiting for Scripture in their own tongue. Your gift to Scriptura, designated toward Will’s staff support, helps make that conviction concrete.

If you would like to partner with Will in supporting Scriptura’s work through this role, you can give using the form below. Your support helps make this work sustainable, effective, and accessible.

Thank you for your support and prayers.
