Psalms Refresher Workshop

The Bantè workshop didn’t start with Scriptura knocking on a door. It started with a community knocking on Scriptura’s.

After a previous arts workshop with the Incà community, Scriptura’s field coordinator followed up — monitoring whether what had been taught was actually being used. What he found was that the impact was real. Songs were being sung. The community had engaged with psalm-based worship in their own language, and they wanted more. They specifically asked for a refresher workshop to go deeper and produce new material.

That kind of bottom-up demand changes a workshop’s character entirely. Participants weren’t attending because they were sent. They were attending because their community had tasted something and wanted more of it. The IDAGBASSOKE Edé Incà Association hosted, organized, and officially launched the event. Local churches sent their people.

There’s a version of this work where outside organizations bring resources to communities and hope they stick. This wasn’t that. This was a community that had already decided the Psalms belonged to them — and was asking for help to claim more of them.
